Ewen
Just had a friend round, hes buying a new Type R. Says he can get it officially chipped to 300 brake for £400. Really ?
Daston
doubt it Honda's a pretty highly tuned and 300 brake in a front wheel drive car will be a bitch trying to get all that on the to the tarmac

Ewen
Hes not normally a BS type chap, hes pretty sure of his facts, but 50% more power for £400 sounds bent.
Daston
as far as I am aware the supe still holds the crown of most power for little money

Snooze
The full Rally spec Type-R from JAS has a whole different engine dropped in (the K20?), and even that's only 265bhp (and will set you back £65k for the full Group-R rally spec conversion). I think you can buy just the chip from JAS as an off-the-shelf mod for a standard Type-R, but I'm not sure how much power gain you'll see with it. Really ? hahaahahah A hell of a lot of work would be needed to get it to that level. Chipping it would probably give naff all.
Cable
one of these is good for 20bhp for about £16 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20HP-O2-SENSOR-PERFORMANCE-CHIP-HONDA-ACCORD-TYPE-R_W0QQitemZ110147062586QQihZ001QQcategoryZ38786QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Guest MadMaxCTR
Hi guys, Just registered as i'm thinking about getting a twin turbo Supra. Currently got a modded type-r and there's no way he'll get 300 bhp for £400. Hondata Kpro (ECU mod) is the best mod going which lets you adjust the VTEC power band and tune your car exactly to your mods/engine but that won't give you 300. He'll need a SC conversion to get into those relms. But £
stupra
There's a Civic type R down the road from me with 600 bhp, I think it cost a little bit more than £400 though .
juanchan
Didn't that guy who came with Charlie (B'have) to the meet the other month drive a 500bhp Civic? Again, probably cost a tad more than £400 though!
Snooze
That's ridiculous. How the hell do you get that much power down through the front wheels? Surely you'd just sit there generating clouds of smoke? What about torque steer?

stupra
show it a corner or a wet road... I think it it goes around corner's pretty well, not sure about the wet surface though , then again what 600 bhp car can get that amount of power down on a wet road ? (apart from 4x4's) . Still wouldn't swop the Supra for it though.

Point taken about a 600bhp car with traction issues in the wet, even my relatively stock supra is pretty damn useless in anything below fourth gear but the thing is a 200bhp fwd car has traction issues in the wet let alone tripling the power

Cable
:dHe's not happy....it seems its £400 for another 30 brake lol, I'll doubt you'd get 10bhp for that much money. I think the Jap EP3 civic type R's had about 20bhp more than the UK version and that was with changing things like cams etc.
