Best places for Wine in Calais?

Just wondering if any of you know any off the road places to get some decent red wine etc..

 

Its been a while since i went over for a booze run.

 

My plan is to go to the city d'europe (or whatever its called) then blast up the A16 to Belgium and get some chocolates :-)

I use to go to a place near Eastenders - but i think thats prob been knocked down now!

Apart from the usual places like Auchan, the only other one I know of is Calais Vins 'cos they're open Sundays.

 

On Rue Gutenberg, 2 junctions East of the Chunnel turnoff.

We go a bit further up the road to Boulogne and use E'lerclec.

 

Calais Vin is good for some of the better stuff, the manager there is a guy called Jerome and is really helpfull.

 

But for the slurping stuff we always go to E'lerclerc.

I vote for Champion in Bolougne sur Mer... really easy to find as you go into the town from the A16; bout 15 mins from Sangatte. Good selection of French wines (nice Cote de Rhone for €1.12!)

belive it or not the carefour in city de europe is pretty good. If you can find the wine export (norman !) spend some time with him tell him what you like and he will look after you.
