Rob Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 In my previous job, all our calendars were linked through the server, therefore I could open someone elses calendar and see where they are supposed to be. My new company doesn't have this feature, so does anyone know how to set it up? I presume it's something done in each Outlook rather than on the server. All mostly XP and an NT server. Gaz Walker Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Yep its normally done through an Exchange server. The only way to do it is through email - you set up an appointment and then add one of your contacts through "Invite Attendees" - this emails them a copy and they can add it to thier calender. You wouldn't be able to see where they are though at any given time unless they send you a copy of everything they do and add it to your calender. Gaz. hiten55 Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 we run exchange 2k at work. all our users are members of a "shared calendar" group in ad. all we do, once their outlook profile is setup, is click on calendar, click on open a shared calendar, enter the persons calendar you want to view and hey presto! but like gaz said, its a setting on exchange, not sure where but it will have something to do with AD too. let us know how you get on edit: forgot to add, we also their calendar for the shared calendar group. Stonkin Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Generally the person's calendar you are trying to view, that person will have to go into their calendar properties and give you a certain level of permission, be it read only or editor type permissions if they want you to be able to add/remove items that you or they have created.
