silvershark44
A typical drain and change will require 5 litres upwards. Some cars seem to take more. But ive only ever need about 5-6 litres per change
TLicense
If it's just off the dispstick then a litre will bring up about 2/3rds of the way from the min to max on the dipstick
hoff
When I last changed my oil on my NA 6 litres put it to about 2/3 full iirc.

juanchan
When I checked the oil once with my car parked on the tiniest, slightest angle possible, it didn't measure on the dipstick. I parked on level ground and it was reading near the top of the dipstick. And my car just took 5.5 litres this afternoon when I refilled it

Tricky-Ricky
I take it the oil pressure light has been on for some time then? I hope that if any light has been on, its just the oil level light, and not the oil pressure light:( it would be a good idea to check that both lights come on when the ignition is switched on and then go out when the engine is running, it could be suffering from dry joints on the light circuit board.
