Slip Light flashing

I know that this has been bought up before as I searched but there doesnt seem to be any concrete answers or solutions.

I have a 94 plate 6sp TT and I was sorting the computer out today in the boot (so i know its nothing to do with my wiring :p )...so had the engine running sitting on my drive. and the Slip light started flashing.

It did this before when I ran it on normal 95 octane unleaded...but hasnt done it since...then this all of a sudden.

Before when it flashed there was no power and the car was running like a heap...but that was cos of the fuel....this time its got nearly a full tank of Esso super and its flashing...yet driving fine?

I wouldnt mind but i got a long journey tomorrow, and dont really want any problems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

+1 for dodgy speed conversion here. Mine used to have the same problem - sometimes the light would start flashing and would continue (whilst the car was running, obviously) for several days. Other times it would weeks without flashing.

Was a dodgy speed conversion.

Not sure how acurate this is but I have a problem with one of my ABS sensors (the old `Nemesis` swapped mine for a dud one to put on their motor before they closed down) ever since then my slip cont light has flashed because i think it works from them calculating wheel speed. I dunno.

Have you been down in the passenger foot well recently. A few months ago i had the protective plate out (as working on the ecu) and the carpet just pushed over it as a temporary thing. I found that when people where putting there feet against the footwell the trac light started to flash but the car still ran fine, it did this until the car was turned off and back on. It seemed there was a loose connection down there. Might want to check that.

i get this. Apparently its error code 63 / 64 (cant remember which one, but one of them doesnt exist so its the other one ;) ) and it points to a sensor in the gearbox, on auto's anyway. may be worth taking the sensor out and replacing or cleaning it....?
