hogmaw
I went for about half a mile thinking in the back of my mind that something wasn't quite right. Got up to 50mph before I realised I'd left the handbrake on! Doh! Will I have done any damage?!

Gaz6002
when I was 17 i did this with my first car for a lot longer than 1/2 mile... the smoke from the brakes told me something was up hehe Didn't you notice the warning triangle? Your brake pads may be a little worn.

hogmaw
I only just put new ones on too! TBH I never know if the brake works or not anyway cos I have an auto and when it's in P the brake is just there as a safety measure (I think)
edge
On all the auto cars ive had i have never used the handbrake. So if it is just shoes and they dont affect the way the car stops and are cable and not fliud operated and it still stops it fom rolling down a hill then i wouldnt be to worried. Whitesupraboy2
im sure it wasnt fully up though. i cant move with mine on You should be able to move with it on when giving the engine some revs, Someone else may of done this once. ** You wont of done anything to the brakes (unless the heat was that great) as the handbrake does have seperate shoes. ** I travelled all of 20 metres and realised not half a mile though
