Matt _Aero top_
Hi I'm in the process of buying some 19 inch rims for my sup but im unsure of what offset these should be ? there 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears i understand that they've got to be 5x114 P.C.D but what offset would be best suited to my j-spec with standard brakes ? Also what tyre sizes should i be thinking of fitting please . Many thaks fellas
Gaz Walker
The offsets available will vary from company to company, but high thirties and anything in the forties will work. The design of the wheel comes into play as well. If you let me know what wheeels your looking at I can tell you more Gaz.

bolarbag
Where they on a Supra before? Mine, fit J-Specs perfectly, but no chance the fronts will go over U.K Spec brakes, maybe with spacers!

Gaz Walker
I'd say they should be fine with the J-specs...

Gaz Walker
No worries. 245/35/19 & 275/30/19 would be a good size.
Matt _Aero top_
Cheers mate but why can't you have 35 profile on the rears
Gaz Walker
Cheers mate but why can't you have 35 profile on the rears You can - although your speedo would be more out with a 35 profile than a 30... Gaz.
ellis
Cheers mate but why can't you have 35 profile on the rears Standard tyre sizes have 5mm difference too - 45 on the front 40 on the rear.
Matt _Aero top_
I'm just wanting to keep asmuch profile as possible as to help prevent damaging the rims as sometimes i have to mount curbs to park the car outside my house .

Your going to curb them then - quite easily I'd say! Doesn't really matter what tyre you get. Gaz.

Matt _Aero top_
Hows about if i put 40's on the front and 35's on the rear or would that just be silly on 19's Would they scrape , and how much would the speedo be out ? and is there anyway of calculating this
merckx
I've got 8.5" & 9.5" on 19's Like Gaz said , 245/35 and 275/30 are the ones to go for. I fitted these on mine. The rears are only 2% different to stock ones in terms of diameter .

Sorry to be a pain lads i'm just worried i've spend all this money and i'm gonna wreck them now straight away .
merckx
Are you worried that if you get tyres with a lower wall height they'll give less protection for the wheels when you encounter kerbs etc? Edit. I've just read why you need them !
merckx
Stock sizes are in bold Front 235/45 17 = 643mm dia 245/35 19 = 654mm dia 245/40 19 = 679mm dia Rear 255/40 17 = 636mm dia 275/30 19 = 648mm dia 275/35 19 = 675mm dia You might have clearance issues with the larger sidewall tyres. I wouldn't recommend getting 19's if you need to go up kerbs , unless you make some wooden ramps.
Bob
Standard tyre sizes have 5mm difference too - 45 on the front 40 on the rear. The profile is a percentage of the tyre width, not a set measurement in mm.
