MS SBS POP3 email sync errors

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Anyone know anything about MS SBS pop3 email sync?

We have a server installed and a couple of users which we were hoping could use http://server/exchange to retrieve there mail from an external pop3 mail server.

I have configured the pop3 sync and using the exchange snap-in I can see that there is mail waiting in the users mailbox but the web based mail client does not pick it up or show any mails.

Any ideas?

This did appear to work at first and then stopped when I changed the persons email addy from domain.local to domain.com.

Thanks

Whats OWA?

The clients are not domain members and when they enter http://server/exchange into IE it prompts for user name and pass and then the client loads.

If I send myself a test mail to hotmail or yahoo I receive without issue but when I reply it just goes into that persons queue and doesnt appear in the exchange webmail client.

Have you actually set up domain.com in the recipient policies?

Just logged onto the server and gone into the exchange system manager and the recipient policies and in the default policy there is a line with SMTP @domain.com.

Is this what you are refering too?

Right basically I need to change the from address domain but when I do this they are no longer delivered to the users inbox.

We have a SBS server on a private network with domain.local which is using pop3 connectors to a sendmail box on the internet with the proper .com domain name.

I can send mails when the users mail is configured as either .local or .com but I can only receive mail into the inbox when the users email address is set to .local the external mailbox on sendmail is always .com and hasnt been changed.

Is there a way to masqarade or change the from address in exchange?
