What is your oil temp

Mine is between 95 and 110 when up to temp (according to gauge) depending how fast im driving, i dont have an oil cooler fitted but i have one in the garage, are them temps about right and do you think its worth fitting one?

Not sure really as never took much notice of it before, mainly use it so i can tell when i can start playing, had a bit of a play tonight and it was sat at about 110.

Isn't the temp sensor reading affected depending on where its fitted?

 

Mine is fitted in a sandwhich plate, maybe yours is fitted in the sump and therefore reads higher? I dunno much about this stuff tbh lol

 

 

 

Yea mine is in a sandwhich plate to, just checked my dyno graphs and they all read between 97 and 100 (he puts temp stick down the dipstick hole) so all seems well.

what oil you running in there mate ? thats a good temp for a 600bhp car without any other oil cooling parts , mine sits at 120 when im playing that was bpu , just in the middle of fitting the singlwe now so hope it stays low then ,

 

 

 

I use 10w 50 Silkolene pro s mate:)

I think there is a big difference in accuracy between various makes of gauge, also this was covered a few days ago, the sump temp is far more stable and lower than the reading in a sandwich plate,

and yeah i think Jamie's tyre temps are what he should worry about:p
