baldy
after getting nowhere with my car and the fault code ive had an idea what would happen if i have switched the throttle and sub throttle tps conections by mistake cheers for any advise
Ian C
If I remember correctly they go in opposite directions so you'd probably break them it you first used the accelerator, either that or fitted it so the internals are disconnected so it constantly reads 0. -Ian
baldy
ian i think you miss understand what im tring to say not the sensors in the wrong place but the wiring so the sub throttle wiring was connected to the main throttle tps

dini_the_owl
i dont think you can else you'd be struggling with the loom, you could however fit the sensors on incorrectly like ian said, but you get the two error codes, sensors constantly read 0 as it does not connect with the internal mechanism (obvoiusly goes wrong way). Ian C
I don't think you'd necessarily get error codes if you put the wrong one in the wrong place. As for the wrong plug on the wrong one, that'd be quite an achievement to do while not suspecting something is wrong, but if you did then it'd probably think the throttle is either shut or wide open all the time because it's wired up to the TRAC butterfly instead. The TRAC butterfly sits at wide open by default, not sure if the sensor reports wide open or shut at that point. -Ian
baldy
i had a lookat the possibility of switching these round and looking at how tight the sub throttle wiring would be to the main throttle i dont think ive done that
