steve spedd
Morning folks. i currently have the car in the garage awaiting a custom pipe from the back of the cat (i have a decat in place and want it to go from here so i can just fit the cat in for mot's) to the back box. so it will remove the two silencers... Problem is the Nur spec - S has two connections (for the standard NA exhaust and where it splits into two for the silencers around the spair wheel thing. i was going to get them to do a straight through 3" pipe then split it into the two connections of the Nur spec - S. the guy just called me saying that the Nur spec - S goes from the two into a 2 1/4" pipe. And basically its not worth using a 3" pipe. He did say he could put me a back box on as well but i quite like the sound of the car at the mo, just want it louder.... advice as to what you would do would be great. im fitting the NA-T kit later this year, something to consider when you hopefully suggest something. so if it means getting rid of the Spec - S and getting a new system it will be for sale. cheers guys.... ulysees
are you saying that you are putting a turbo on your n/a. as for exhaust i cant help. but i was told that the n/a has alloy pistons where as the tt does not and fitting a turbo would melt the pistons. dini_the_owl
you will then need something less restrictive than the s, your guy is correct as its a smaller diameter hole at the rear, and you cant get more than stock boost off a tt with one on due to the size, and they get bloody hot too from all the build up, tried one on my tt with 63mm bore straight with no cats stock boost all the way, take it off and away you go! Homer
If you're going to be going for BPU power or less (and on a budget) then I'd just get the two silencers in the mid-cat-back section replaced with straight through sections and keep what you have. Provided it's done properly with SS pipe it will outlast many aftermarket systems and will provide plenty enough flow. If you have £350+ to spend go for a a simple, lighter weight aftermarket system like the RSR or (if you have more budget) the very lightweight Ti systems.
