chilli
At work they've offered a few of us the opportunity to work somewhere else, on a new project for approx 3 months. It's a bit too far to commute (about 2-3 hours away from me just north of b'ham) so they've offered us an incentive. Basically they figure was normal salary + £125 per day, for the 3 months. It would be all expenses paid (hotel, food, travel). So, it would mean staying away from home from probably late sunday night to late friday evening. what do you lot think? should I go for it? would you go for it? toyotasuprauk
It'll be hard and pretty horrible IMO living in a hotel. Have you got a girlfriend that you wouldnt be seeing? Still £125 per day add's up to a lot of money!
The Restorer
I did this 3 1/2 years ago. Not looked back since. Depends where you've got to go though. I was in Poole for 2 years which was a lovely place to live but never found a decent indian restaurant. Moved to Fleet, but never really enjoyed it there. Southall with brilliant restaurants for me was not too far away though. Also, seeing how everyone seems to think they live in the best place ever etc etc... is a good life experience. All this assumes they'll be renting you a place otherwise try and go for a hotel apartment thingy... Living out of a hotel for that long may be awkward. Still, I'd recommend it. chilli
do have a gf, she would be ok probably, she said she understood either way. It would pay for a nice holiday later in the year amongst other things. thing is we had arranged to go away later in the year and I don't want it dragging on and messing up those plans. The problem at the moment is I don't know exactly when it would start, so it might not finish when we've planed to be away... I guess if I can find out some more details it would be easier It's only a temporary thing, but considering in the future I was considering contracting, this might be an interesting taster maybe. Just came with little notice to prepare myself lol

ivan
Do it. If not, can I do it instead of you? (What is it BTW?) I was in Poole for 2 years which was a lovely place to live but never found a decent indian restaurant.I don't do Indian, but I've heard The Himachol in Ashley Rd comes highly recommended. stupra
I'd say give it a go, being away from home for a little while won't do you any harm. You could save the extra cash you'll be getting, and treat yourself and your girl at the end.
Nick
It really depends where you are as to whether you'll enjoy it, but the extra cash is nice and it's a break from the routine. I wouldn't bother contracting in the UK now though, been more changes in this years budget and it's getting to the point where it's really not worth it IMO.
