Boost spike with TTC

Recommended Posts

I did the true twin conversion at the weekend following these instructions.

I quite like the feel of it, although it's odd having to downshift to get decent power at lower revs!

At the weekend I was hitting 0.9bar boost when I had been getting 1.1bar prior to TTC (with Nur Spec and CW restrictor ring).

Today the boost was hitting 1.0 but with spikes of up to 1.5bar.

I checked all the hoses (all 2!) and they were on, but the 2nd hose - from the pressure line to EGCV actuator - is quite tight and may be kinking at the bottom.

So I have 3 questions!

1 - should the boost be the same in parallel, i.e should I be hitting 1.1bar

2 - what effects would a this hose being kinked have

3 - I have hit 1.5bar before - when I fitted the Nur Spec without the CW restrictor ring - and both then and today there has been no fuel cut. Does that definitely mean there is a FCD fitted? Where would I look for it?

All opinions appreciated

When I changed mine to TTC I had exactly the same problem. This was despite the fact that I had a CW restrictor ring and had turned the boost controler off.

I posted a thread up at the time and nobody could explain why this was occurring.

Hi there,

I'v been driving few other turbo car, and this is the first twin turbo auto I have, it runs great but I dont know what or if there is anything to it?

It just, say on third gear long stright road, rev up, first turbo comes in, boost guage show just above 10psi, keep foot down, second turbo comes in 4.5k rev guage show about14psi, the car is keep going strong, but it feel the car let off slight then go again, feel like your foot on and off on the pedel, but the road is flat, no fuel cut or what ever?

any idea guys?

cheers
