Matt Harwood
I'd have a guess that it's a Mines ECU Basically a standard ECU, modified internally by Mines. Usually they have a raised rev limit around 7500 to 8000rpm, no fuel cut, no speed limit, and the fuelling is modified to allow higher boost. An up-rated ECU means that in the short term you will save some cash as you won't have to fit an FCD. However it may indicate that the car has had some reasonable modifications in the past (why else bother up-rating the ECU?!) I.e. almost certainly a 1 or both cats out. I recall in a previous post that it had a 320 kph Speedo face, this may indicate that the car has been driven a bit harder than other imports as most are restricted to 180 kph. What other mods does the car have - Boost/EGT gauge, boost controller?
Sherriff
Thats the same ECU as in mine, not been to the rolling road yet, and only have one cat out at the current time, but plans for the future are afoot My car seems to have benefitted (feels smoother) from a recent ECU reset as suggested in a thread not so long ago. Cheers, Sherriff.

neilg
It probably has been driven hard, doesnt have many other bits on though, turbo timer, no boost gauge no boost controller anywhere. I was thinking the same in honesty but there is no smoke at all even when the hammer is down. everything looks and sounds ok. It has had a gearbox swap, im supprised nobody has picked up on that yet.
