tt red supra
all the tech experts advice needed....... got told by an irish tuner that you can adjust the fuel with a avcr at a certain rpm.... is it true or bulls***??????????? reason for adjusting fuel, i failed the equivilliant af an mot in england due to emissions, 2 cats in and also the lamda failed... test results: lamba.. .915 btw .950-1.500 pass Co2.... 2.95% above .03% fail.. All the above was at 2700rpm....... any advice required....
Ric
get a new o2 sensor Although given your spec i dont actually know if that would make a diffrence
tt red supra
i was thinkin that.. am i right in saying the os sensor is the lamba????? but it passed the low idle at 900rpm perfect...
TrickTT
Sounds to me like your cats are knackered. Fairly sure there is no way to adjust fuelling with an AVCR. Your tuner is probably thinking of an SAFC.
tt red supra
the cats were off the car for 2yrs i fitted them about 1 week before the test... do you think thats my problem.......... im open to ideas
bondango
Have you any Fuel system mods? Adjustable FPR, bigger injectors etc etc?? I would look at a new O2 sensor and the possibility of running just the stock ECU for the NCT test. The SAFC trick only works if your o2 sesnor is in good condition as the ECU still fights the fueling under closed loop. Dropping Fuel pressure has also worked on a few cars here in the North, but that was with the means to do so.

bondango
Id defo go with a new sensor, also, If you have an FP gauge, you could try knocking a few PSI's off the FP just for the NCT, but make sure you return it to its current setting afterwards. tt red supra
cheers.......... all info much appreciated... im already on to nic for a sensor... should i go with a stock one or a wideband..... i persume if i knock a few psi's off ill be touching into dangerous engine territory
bondango
not really, as long as you dont go near boost, closed loop should keep things happy enough, but you need to know the original pressure as the mapping will have been setup around this.
