Terminator
Sorry cant help with the noise thing. But interested in your quick method of removal, as the book says you have to take half the car apart.
richy2jz-gte
i tryed doing it by the book but the first bolt i tryed to undo snapped off so i just undone the 3 top strut bolts and the bottom leg bolt got a bar and pushed down the bottom arm and pulled the strut out same on the back but you have to remove the rear caliper from the back because the leg wont clear the brake flexi. now i know how to do it i could easly do the whole job in less than 1 1/2 hours. my car was knocking before but its just 10 times wosre now ive lowerd it probably because its loads harder. crimbo
I did mine the same way, dunno why the book makes it so complicated really. Mine aint knocking on speed jumps tho' m8.....
richy2jz-gte
found out what it is.... when i tryed doin it "by the book" i tryed undoing the antirollbar links off but the whole lot kept turning and the alan key rounded off cus its old and crusty so i thought it was still tight but its not it must have undone slightly and is knockin in the antiroll bar. i rang toyota and they want £50 for 1 so i asked 1 of our supplyers and they got a genuine part but in a diffrent bag for £20.....
