TC issues

Hi Chaps

Went out for the first blast of the year today over to Goodwood motor circuit as the weather was so fine. Everything OK apart from my TC button does not allow me to switch the TC off. The dash light however works fine as I had the thing flashing away a fair few times on my trip. It also lights up and goes out on startup as it should do.

Anyhow because I don't want to f**k about shall I just pull the TC fuse and have done with it, thus delimiting the car, switching the TC off permanently but leaving the dash light on all the time. Have I missed any of the effects of pulling the fuse?

Sorry for the ramble cheers fellas.

Rich

Mine was doing exactly the same thing.

OK... so a couple of days ago I found a nasty speed breaker, that when wet allowed me to spin the wheels (like a rolling road) and hence test the TC. So, the TC would kick in as expected, but when I flicked the switch, the TC would turn off and let the wheels spin nice and freely. Hence, it was turning off, just the lights weren't showing up.

Today, flicked the TC switch and knocked the dash a couple of times and the light was coming on. Just took the top bit of the dash, checked everything and noticed one set of wires had been trapped somewhere and pinched. Cleared that, wrapped some insulating tape around it and re-assembled the cluster before putting everything back together.

It's all working now and I guess I have been fairly lucky as the diff oil, engine oil and engine warning light were in the same cluster as well. Don't know how long the whole thing has been out.

My TC would kick in and the light flash as well. However, when you press the TC OFF button you should get a light saying TC OFF.

Other thing to check is are you getting a handbrake light and all you oil levels when you start the car. If you are then it may be a different issue to what I had.
