ndwgolf
Guys, I had and oil feed line to my turbo blow off and it poured oil all over my exhaust manifold asbestos wrapping, I fixed the oil line but now whenever I take my car out it smokes like hell and smells like s**t as well My question is will the smoke and smell eventually go away or should I replace the wrapping? If I need to replace this wrapping is it a big job or a relatively simple job?? Also if I need to replace it can someone point me it the direction to where I can buy it and how much would I need 20ft, 50 ft 100ft??? Thanks Neil
Soonto_HAS_soop
I'd leave it for a week or two and see if it gets better, I would of thought it would TBH. If it is a single tubular manifold that is wrapped, I would not even consider doing it whilst it is still on the car, I had a horrible job doing mine when it was st on the bench in front of me. To buy it, look at places like http://www.demon-tweeks.com or ebay generally has it on sale.
uk-rich
i think i will smoke for ages, agreed if you need to re-do would be easier to remove the mani, when i did mine i used about £200 worth of wrap
PhilMorrison
depending on how much oil went onto it, I'd really consider re-wrapping it. Heat wrap does an excellent job of retaining heat, but soak it in oil and give it a red hot glow to ignite, and it suddenly has the same properties as the wick in a candle.. I am speaking from experience ..
