tbourner
Sums it up nicely: http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp Interesting, but it doesn't mention things like the fact (yes, fact) that feelings of thirst are so similar in terms of brain signal to feelings of hunger, that most people can stop a bout of hunger by drinking a whole glass of water. Stopping the snacking caused by incorrectly believing you are hungry will help you lose weight etc. Also, lack of water intake is a major cause of Halitosis!! Anyway, I drink lots of water at work because there's no alternative (I'm not paying £1.80 for a coffee in our internal StarBucks, and the stuff that comes out the machine is some form of slurry I'm sure), plus the fact that I actually choose water over most other drinks as it feels 'purer' to drink than anything else. I know a guy who drinks Coke all day!! I don't think I could do that TBH.
