I have an intermittent ticking coming from the solonoid under the bonnet its a really fast tick it also happens when the igniition is on but engine not started, is this normal or is it broke?

its the sbcid III if that makes a difference

Cheers

I've got a blitz dsbc on my pulsar. It makes the ticking sound too, but only when it's registering boost and on a channel where the duty is set above 0% (obviously)

Perhaps you have a faulty boost sensor that sometimes reads a little boost while the car is idle, causing the solonoids to start to cycle?

I had this happen to mine once - when I had relocated it over towards the turbos and the unit got very hot

The solenoid was ticking away (it always does but over the sound of the engine you normally cant hear it) even when the engine was off

I suggest you relocate it away from anywhere too hot, reset and re-proramme it in and check it still all works by running with it switched to the 'off' posuition and then back on!

Nice bay there m8 - that was where mine was located - and unless your turbos are somewhere else that is one hot place!!

However a thought - it may be that the length of the hose run (which thay recommend as being as short as possible - or can cause boost spiking) may have residual vacuum in it

May be an idea - I phones Blit on this and they had no idea - but to send it to them for testing - but it never happened again

Can you locate it down by the induction and infront of the heat shield?
