This investigation has now been going on for over 10 months and must have used up a huge amount of police time and resources. Do you think that their efforts would be better utilised on other crime areas or are they justified in continuing to get at the truth and see any wrong doers charged and convicted?

Like most investigations these days, waste of time, money and more importantly resources.

I wish they would just concentrate on crime fighting. They need to completely restructure the home office for starters, that place is an utter shambles. We know blair and his cronies are giving each other back handers and probably back enders too :D Why spend millions on it when at the end somehow a vital piece of evidence will be misplaced or the conclusion will be so vague that nopbody knows what it is supposed toi be saying.

Talking about no room why dosnt a company build a massive prision in the middle of the desert somewhere (I mean a massive massive prison) then charge contrys a small fee to ship prisoners there this will work 2 fold.

A) No bugger would want to go there so reduces crime

B) Gov saves money on Prison fees meaning they can put that into education NHS etc

Oooh, controversial.

Personally I think the principle of such investigations is sound, because otherwise the top politicians would start to believe (more than they already do) that they can get away with murder (Dr David Kelly).

However, we all know that in practise it will be drawn out for so long that no one will care any more, a stupid amount of money will be spent, and the verdict so tied up in legalese that only lawyers will understand anyway.

I don't understand how these things take so long and cost so much anyway. I reckon the investigators just spend 80% of the time playing minesweeper then just knock out some incomprehensible legal jargon to make us think they've done something.

Everyone know they're all up to it and have been for years as well as every other party.. I'm pretty much done with caring about politics these days.

Unless they change the way parties are funded (ie through us directly (more tax)) then it'll be like that.

I agree B - all the main party's have been doing this. Am I right in thinking that this inquiry was instigated by a complaint from the Scottish Nationalist's and Plaid Cymru? If so, is this a jealousy issue rather than a moral one?
