razza
I've got full decat which was only done recently, it had one cat removed prior to that. I've added a RR with 1.2 restriction from Chris Wilson, however whenever I really give it the boot it still overboosts and the HKS boost controller kicks in and beeps at me. (caught it running at 1.3/1.4 the other day) Qusetion: 1) Do I need to re-map now it's fully decatted? 2) Do I need to re-configure the boost controller as the natural boost level is obviously higher? 3) Do I need a smaller RR, i.e. 1.0 bar? I plan to run normally at 1.0 bar but to boost up to 1.2 bar when the occasion arises. I'm just surprised that with the ring in place it's going higher than 1.2 bar.... spidermonkey
rr is probably to big, i think the ring needs to be tailored to a specific car ( ie it might work fine on another car but over boost on yours) i'd try a smaller ring mate
Alex
Cold weather raises the boost you'll be ok if you only peak at 1.4briefly... It's not the weather for going flat out anyway!
razza
the other day was nice and dry for me, had the chance for a spin so thought why not:eyebrows: I'll have to get a smaller ring then, if it's a 1.0 ring can I still boost it to 1.2 using the boost controller, or does it stop it going past that level totally? spidermonkey
as Alex has rightly pointed out the cold weather will make the car over boost to a point ( i find it hard to get onto my 2nd turbo in this weather coz the backend starts to spin ), but if you fit a smaller ring you can still use your controller to bring it back up to 1.2 bar.
