Newport (Shrops) Living alone - I once heard said "two people can live as cheaply or as expensivly as one" which is exactly right, as I found out. Same utility bills, same rent/mortgage the only thing that is marginally different is the council tax which one can get as a single persons allowance (25% discount) and food bills are a bit lower - in that area I used to budget on around £1100 a month in outgoings inc. car, back down here in sunny Dorset add four to five hundred quid.
