When i had my own place it was like this...

£30 electric per month

£30 water per month

£85 council tax per month

£11 tv licence per month

£30 gas per month (i think)

£80ish per month for food shopping

£35 phone per month (mobile)

£595 rent per month

that was spilt between two...so when I was on my own there was no way I could afford it and still enjoy the luxuries of life :)

Hey Hadyn, long time no see - I used to pass you nearly every day on the A41 - red Supe

As you know I used to live in Edgmond Marsh nr. Newport (Shrops)

Living alone - I once heard said "two people can live as cheaply or as expensivly as one" which is exactly right, as I found out.

Same utility bills, same rent/mortgage the only thing that is marginally different is the council tax which one can get as a single persons allowance (25% discount) and food bills are a bit lower - in that area I used to budget on around £1100 a month in outgoings inc. car, back down here in sunny Dorset add four to five hundred quid.

Shocked?

Very sensible and all taken on board

Absolutely ridiculous, how dare you suggest such a thing!

:p

Actually I spend around £1-2k per month just on mods/running costs for the Supra so it makes the living costs pale into insignificance :D

That scary. You're spending about the same as me, but I'm paying for food for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 dogs and a cat (not that the cat costs much to feed:) )
