Help Fitting Greddy BOV

Would just like for a bit of advise/help with fitting this Greddy Bov bought from a forum member!

I am completely green when it comes to this and have put a couple of pics 1) showing what I think is the Standard Bov & 2) the Greddy Bov I have - which I was under the impression would just replace the factory Bov with no extra pipe work needed.

Could someone clarify this for me and explain the best way to fit this.

Thanks in advance!

Michael

I thought leaking lots of oil was normal ;)

Probably 3/4 of the TT's I've seen have oil leaking from the BOV.

Is this because the pipes are not secure enough to the bov? if so I take it I should be useing jubilee clips instead of the standard clamps? thanks again

In the pics below:

Block off no2

Connect no1 to no1 on the BOV

Connect no3 to no3 on the BOV

Job done :D

With a standard BOV if you leave the number 2 hose from the Bov unattached and then block off the number 2 hose going to the recirculation will it make a blow off noise, just a thought

No, its not due to the seal, it'll work its way out. Its normal to have a little oil collect in the pipes, but gets worse if you have valve stem seal or turbo seal issue. I wouldn't worry about it at all mate.

As Gary said, use jubilee clips when installing the new BOV

Excuse my ignorance , will it do any harm doing this , just thinking it would be a inexpensive way of getting a whooosh,

is it common practise ?

I wouldn't say its common practice but have heard of a few doing it. It only causes a problem on some UK auto's so can't see why its not worth a try.
