ChrisB
I know its fairly normal for turbo cars running higher boost to kick black smoke out when on full boost but is there anyway to stop them doing it? im told it's fine but still dont really like it ? Paul Laing
Better to run rich than to run too lean, but would be nice to know other thoughts on why turbo cars do this
ChrisB
as far as i knwo theres no problem just burning off excess fuel but usually wrong lol
Ian C
It's the acceleration pump feature, which chucks in a big dose of fuel when you put your foot down. The *un*burnt fuel is the black stuff that comes out. Without it you would get hesitation and stumbling when you momentarily had too much air for not enough fuel. Gently depress the pedal over a couple of seconds to avoid it -Ian
