Elliot
Hi all My mobile takes MPG4 videos, which is a pain as I don't have any editor software on my computer. Does anyone know a safe, free or *cough* backup programme I could get so I can edit them on my computer, rather than messing round on my phone, as it's quite fiddly. Or, is there a way to convert them to MP3 or something & use another editing programme? I have looked on the net, but it seems you have to pay for them & I'm not so sure I trust some of them. Thanks
Elliot
I've downloaded Window Movie Maker, but it's not supporting MP4 or 3GP files. So, I somehow need to download a convertor. Can anyone recommend please?
JustGav
Not sure about easy way to do it.. But you can do it with virtualdub and an avisynth plugin.. You can edit MP4 with VirtualDub and create a new AVI file after. What you need to do is obtain AVISynth at http://www.avisynth.org.
ChrisSZ
I use AVS Video Converter - not free but works very well for me
Elliot
I've just downloaded virtualdub, but it doesn't recognise the file types
Thorin
I've just downloaded virtualdub, but it doesn't recognise the file types You need to use AVISynth and create an avs file, also known as frame serving. But then you'd have to save as AVI once you've edited it. There's no real decent free MP4 editors yet.
Elliot
Hmm, a bit too complicated for me folks! Thanks anyway... I'll just stick to editing them on the phone, then hope a user (stoopid!) friendly editor comes out!
jaymdee
I got a programme which does some stuff with file conversions etc. It's called "mpegable broadcaster". The free version puts a banner on the edited file. Not sure if it's what you want or not
