After jacking one side of the car up to get the rad out i'v noticed some oil/petrol on the floor at the rear. Smells like petrol. Why would this leek out when the car is jacked up? Rob
Well the fuel filter is just under the passenger seat in line with that big plastic cover. There'll be junctions there, where the fuel line joins each side of the filter, and where there are joints in a pipe is where it'll most likely leak. Check those as maybe it's slowly leaking into the plastic tray cover and tilting the car spilt it out. Failing that take off the whole cover and check the run of the fuel line. Get the whole car up on stands so it's level, then run the engine so the fuel system is under pressure. Could also be mainly collected water spray mixed with a bit of petrol. Rob
Thinking about it I bet mucky water from the road surface would smell a bit of fuel, with all the diesel and oil and muck you get in winter. Hey, that's optimism for you.
CardiffSupra
Hehe yes, Lets hope so
SupraAyf
Staying with the optimistic approach but if its an oily based liquid then it could have something to do with the exit location for the breather system. If you're jacking the car from the NSF location then it may have allowed any oil-petrol smelling residue to flow out to the back of the car (petrol tank side) where the breather tank exit is located. Just a shot in the dark but I hope you get in sorted soon mucka!

Rob
Ok, maybe there is a small leak, but the mechanic stuffed the space round the fuel pipe with £50 notes, and they all fall out when you remove the plastic cover. Just at that moment, tennis superstar Maria Sharapova walks past and discovers that nothing turns her on more than the sight a welshmans legs sticking out from under a japanese car... Maybe tomorrow eh? Well there wasnt loads of petrol but the car was jacked up for about 3hrs. I'd say about 1/2 pint.
Dave
if you had a leak you would defo smell it when you are running must be isnt there an overfill pipe by the filler cap perhaps it came from there ??? if thats not it buy an n/a they never break;)
