It's therefore not been used at all since I bought it so it's still in whatever condition it was then. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's heat-sensitive paint for trouble-shooting purposes but that could just be me getting confused. I think of it more as a tasteful purple. SimonR Posted June 4, 2007 Author Share Posted June 4, 2007 Your torque converter (on a auto) is the fluid coupling that transfers power from the engine to the trans. They are manufactured to fully engage (or near enough) at a certain rpm but it's usually quite low. This one engages at a higher rpm allowing you to waz up the revs before taking off.
