I also had a capital one card, which i defaulted on ( was out of work) i only had £200 on it, but after a few months charges etc it ended up around the £750 mark!!! which i paid eventually, and cancelled my capital one card, can i still claim from them buggers too??? enev though i dont have an account with them no more? I haven't spent a single penny in "charges", just interest (I went over my OD quite a few times ). Any time any charges have appeared I have called them and discussed it, and they have written them off for various reasons and actually have been more interested in keeping my business on a freindly note, so they have kept my loyalty . I find as long as I keep in touch with them when I can see troubles coming, it has been possible to avoid charges (well mostly, I guess you can't take the p*ss too much) - [*ring ring* Yes Sir, what can we do for you? - I just bought a Supra... hmm I see, we will increase your credit zone to £18000000000, that should help cover the yearly fuel bill]. Apparently, this goes for all your util bills too - if you see the sh*t approaching the large rotating fan, call em Communication is king, although I am aware of some people not having quite the same experiences as me. Voo51 Posted March 8, 2007 Share Posted March 8, 2007 i sent my forst letter off- i then rung hsbc to confirm they had recieved it- they said they hadnt so i ordered the statements there and then- the lady knew what it was for and was really nice. I recieved a few days later all 6 years of statments free!! I have now added the fees up and has come to £2050.50. i have printed my second letter and sent it off recorded delivery yesturday- im curious to see whether this will actually work or not!
