V
Is this normal? This only seems to happen when I’ve been driving quite hard for a while by either high speed sprints (about 10-20miles) and drifting/power sliding say half a dozen times whilst also driving for about 30minutes or so. It doesn’t get hot, just warm’ish. Regards Stephen V
Rob
It will get hot, yes, but do you mean the bare metal or the actual carpet is getting hot?
trooper
Remember that the transmission is under there so you should expect some heat soak from that.
V
Just the lower half of the plastic trim. I popped the trim around the gear stick and it seem cooler on top on the metal:conf: Cheers Stephen
Rob
From memory, the sides do get hot but the top doesn't. If it's just warm, don't worry about it, if the plastic is melting then you may have a problem.
Steve W2
Mine does this too. I rest my foot on the carpet and find that it gets quite hot after a while as it seems to recieve dissipated heat from the transmission.
Terminator
Hmm - reduced cooling effect - cause - not driving fast enough IMHO

I suppose it helps for saving weight:) I havent felt down there - its too far away. I was on about further up, either side of the ash tray area. I did also notice this when queying up at Billing for god knows how long, but thought it was just the sun on it:conf: Regards Stephen V
