tt red supra
just had the dreaded coolent in the passenger footwell as well as steamy windows and smelly interior. cheched the coolant level ant was a small bit low, so have come to the conclusion not to drive the car until it is goin to get it fixed, have done a search an found out it is the heater matrix that has packed in... So any additional advice from the wise people out their for a sick and smelly supra...................
ChrisSZ
If you can afford it, take it to a garage and get them to do it - it's a right bastard of a job!!

ChrisSZ
Age, incorrect coolant, possibly someone in the past used radweld for some reason.

TLicense
The heater matrix is a thin as a thin thing on thin day. There's two hoses that go from the engine through the bulkhead on the passenger side into the heater matrix in the cabin. If you knock these hoses on the engine side about, you can crack the heater matrix on the cabin side. I had one go on my celica. Toyota charge £700 odd to change it, the garage I took mine to (hoping it would be cheaper) charged £1100. So basically, don't discount Toyota if you're looking for it to be done on the cheap... (remember though cheap generally doesn't mean good)

Wez
You could bypass it until you get it fixed, that way its safe to drive and wont leak water in the cabin. Mine has been looped out for over 6 months as I cant be asked to change it.
