psymon
Been having a debate bout this. Not sure if they were even tested... Anyone know what the rating was for the soop, or hazzard a guess. I reckon bout a 3, as its an old car
DaveK
I'd guess 3 at best. The general rule with ncap seems to be that if it was made before about 2000, if you crash you'll die.

Gazboy
The lack of airbags would count against it (some Volvo's have nine airbags) as would it's lack of crumple zones. Total guesses but I'd assume this would be the out-come: Front impact test @ 40mph = 3 Side impact @ 30mph = 3 Pedestrian Impact test = 0 Pole Test @ 18mph =
JohnA
Lack of crumple zones? It's got a few good ones alright. With the high sills and stiff shell, I guess it would fare better than current hot-hatches in real-life conditions. Remember that the NCAP is still skewed to allow for the low sills of most cars. Reality on side impact collisions is much harsher - the supra wins there big time. Just ask Chiefgroover.
