why do i get fuel cuts?????

i have a 2nd decat and hks filter and i am running standard boost, but just after the car changes in to 4th (bout 120leptons) i get the big warning light and engine management light on and the fuel cuts.

used to just be a bit of hesitation but now just cuts.

It happened last night in 3rd at about 100 leptons.

i cant see why its doing this:search:

not sure when the car had its last service but is going in for one in 2 weeks. would a new fuel filter and plugs cure this?

cheers

Standard boost even though it's half decatted?

What max boost do you get? At what boost pressure is this fuel cut happening?

that sounds like maybe the 180kph speed limiter kicking in.

Could be plugs. They can cause hesitation once the boost is raised

I'm pretty sure sustained 0.9bar is enough to trigger it. Is it quite a violent complete loss/regain of power?

If you're reaching those boost levels then its a good idea to do some of the other BPU mods such as plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter change, etc.

ok fair enough, yes its a sudden violent loss. sometimes without the warning lights, then a short pause until i get the power back

all on the to do list homer!

cheers guys,

Thinking about it, knackered plugs and/or speed limiter don't make the red triangle warning light come on, so it's most likely fuel cut.

You want to get some BPU suitable plugs in there though if you're running above stock boost
