Guest Jay121
Hi This is my 1st post and I am looking at buying my 1st ever toyota supra. Its a 1996 Auto, non turbo and it has had one of the two cats remove4d, I would think that it was the smaller one. But i have been told by the current owner that the other one, the bigger one i think needs replacing, but don't know where I can get one at a good price. Anyone have a link or two that I may have please? Also would I need to get the 2nd cat put on for the mot or will it pass with the bigger one? Cheers
Nic
Welcome to the club Jay. I'm very confused by your question, do you mean you want to remove the remaining cat? If you do, contact member/trader Chris Wilson, he can supply you with either de-cat pipes. One cat should be sufficient to get through the MOT. 1st cat is the smaller one 2nd cat is the larger one. Guest Jay121
At the moment the car has only 1 cat on it, that is the bigger one. That is the one that needs replacing. The 1st cat has already been taken off and I just wanted to make sure that haveing just the big cat left the mot shall pass.
Nic
So do you want to replace the 2nd cat with a new cat or remove the cat and fit a straight through pipe? A Supra should pass the emissions test with only one cat fitted.

Nic
I want to replace the 2nd cat with a new one You could buy a new one from Toyota, but they will be VERY expensive, hundreds of £'s I would guess. Why do you need to fit a new cat? What is wrong with the one that is on the car? Your other option would be to buy a second hand cat, if you become a member you can post a wanted advert in the classifieds section of the forum. Guest Jay121
They guy said it needs replacing so I just want to work out costs of getting a new one on there, so that way i can bring the cost down

Or did the car fail the emissions test? You should be able to get a second hand cat very cheaply (£20-£40?). Personally I would just remove it and fit a straight through de-cat pipe, then refit the cat just for the MOT.
