Cooling/Heater Problem

Guest Henry

Recommended Posts

Just as the cold weather comes. I find that my heater is blowing just above cold. This has been progressive over the past few months. The water is very clean and full, with no losses or leaks.

Could it be the climate control or the water valve? In short is this a common/known fault or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks uk_rich, Its only done 24K miles and the water is absolutely clear. I will give it a flush and see.

Heater controls do change the vent settings and fan speeds automaticaly, that side seems ok, but I don't know for sure. Are there any tests I can do?

Hi Scooter.

Yeh its got antifreeze (but thanks for the reminder). I mean clear as in absolutely no rust and absolutely no sludge what so ever anywhere inside the visible tanks or filler caps or pipes that I can see into. Well at least you both seem to be suggesting a blocked heater matrix and not an expensive sounding heater contoll box.

It may be a control box.....i know when you select between outside air and recirc that you can actually hear the whirring behind the dash........i'm not sure if its the same with the temp dial, but maybe you could have a listen and compare to someone else's (i'm not around mine at the moment).
