Okay...

Most routers use a web interface...

So you will need to open a dos box...

on windows click start -> run and in the box type -> command

Once the dos box comes up, type ipconfig

You should see an ip address along the lines of 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x where x is a number between 1 and 255..

Just below that there will be a gateway IP... open a webbrowser and go to that ip address ie http://192.168.1.254

From there, there should be a setup system.

It should come with a disc that should have the internet explorer page to access the router on it. You will also need to plug it into the router initially with a network lead. If you don't have a disc try http://192.168.1.1 as is a d-link which is linksys isn't it gav?

Not sure DB, not used d-link stuff before.. used netgear and linksys(cisco) and they are CD based as well... guess d-link would be the same.

The quick start guide shoud take you through the basic setup but initially its often better to connect with a cable.

Username: admin

Password: admin

(reset to defaults for you, PLEASE change this to something else)

Then enter the connection info that your ISP will have supplied, failing that can you grab the details from their website or the existing modem?
