Stonkin
Hi guys, I've just built a new server with 2003 standard and am trying to apply the windows updates. When i click on this in Tools it takes me to a page and says i have to add http://update.microsoft.com/ to the list of trusted sites and untick the box that requires https verification. Fine, easy. But when i enter it and hit ok it keeps saying 'you have entered an invalid wild card sequence' Its really peeing me off, must be something stupid i'm missing. I've done this on other servers and its been fine. Any ideas please?

Stonkin
Will removing that affect anything else mate?
Guest Nicholas
Hi Mate, Top-level domains are not supported in the site list for security zones (for example, .com) or a two-letter top-level domain and a two-letter second-level domain (for example, .ab.xy) when you are using ie6 try adding the addresses in the following format : - *://*.webaddress.com http://*.webaddress.co.uk It's interesting because ie5 does not suffer from this issue Hope that helps, Nick. Stonkin
I've tried that as well Nick and its still complaining. I think its to do with Windows needing activating?

caliAl
Will removing that affect anything else mate? This should not affect anything else, but will allow users more control of IE on that server.

You can always restore the IE Enhanced Security Configuration afterwards if you feel the need.
