michael
A mate of mine had the same thing once, the company responsible for the loan went bankrupt and closed down, in the end he didn't have to pay a penny back.

how_supra
Contact your LEA or the studen loans company to find out. It may be tax year related, so you may not start it until next april. best check though, otherwise they might just back date the whole lot next april. and yes the threshold is £15K
Thorin
I believe the threshold is higher than 15k now. When did you finish at uni? They normally send you a letter once a year asking if you earn over the threshold or want to pay it back. If not you can defer it for another year... I did for 6 years Decided I'd better start paying it back though.

markymark
My girlfriend is paying hers off at the minute - she got no warning, it just started coming out of her wages. I think they can back date it so I would check it out. She doesn't pay much each month so it's not too much to worry about.
