I spend about 2 years at uni, with a student loan. Just wondering if there is anyone that went to uni, or dropped out and is paying off there loan?

I am earning over the 15 grand bracket but i dont understand why im not aving to pay it back?!?

Any ideas?

A mate of mine had the same thing once, the company responsible for the loan went bankrupt and closed down, in the end he didn't have to pay a penny back.

Hmm that makes me think that i may just sit quietly :) fingers crossed eh!

I think you have to arrange it to start.

Im the same, not earning enough tho at the mo.

Arange it :( is there any benefits of paying it off?

Is the threshold 15k?

I believe the threshold is higher than 15k now. When did you finish at uni? They normally send you a letter once a year asking if you earn over the threshold or want to pay it back. If not you can defer it for another year... I did for 6 years :D Decided I'd better start paying it back though.

22K hmmm, is that before or after tax and is commision / bonus's included in that?

Have not got a clue mate to be honest, he left uni 8 years ago and only started paying for it last year, when he got employed by a offshore company that is based in Aberdeen (oil rig owners) I know is salary just now is basic, but he just said that he does not need to pay till after £22k
