qaisar
can someone tell me if the down pipes talked about on the US sites is the same as the 1st/front decat pipe?
Zed
I think in the US they generally go for one peice pipes that replace both cats in on go.
qaisar
so does that mean they are different things? just that ive never seen anyone selling 'downpipes' in the uk only decat pipes 1 + 2 or in one piece. So are downpipes available for the vvti?

Zed
Yes they are the same thing. A lot of people tend only to replace the second cat due to mot reasons and also boost control. This is what I did and passed my mot last week without a single fault, not bad for a 93 uk car with 104k on the clock. Anyway, cw's 1 cat replacement pipe seems to be quite popular, I may get one myself as my MOT tester said it will still pass the mot (with some persuation!!!!!!!!! :flame Dev )

Alex
US/UK's are the same. J-specs are different from UK's and VVTi's are different from all. There are 3 1st cat options all with different stud configurations.
Chris Wilson
would a downpipe bought in the US fit a J Spec car? No, it should fit a UK spec TT though.
Chris Wilson
US/UK's are the same. J-specs are different from UK's and VVTi's are different from all. There are 3 1st cat options all with different stud configurations. The VVti and J-Spec share the same stud PCD, but pipe angles and bends are totally different. The N/A is also served by myself with stainless 2 piece de-cat pipes, and that's VERY different to all the twin turbo ones. I can supply pipes ex stock for all JZA80 models and variants with stock or hybrid turbos, or N/A.
Alex
I wasn't clear there - I meant different stud or pipe angle configurations...
