EddyS
I was racing at the Euro Finals over the weekend and unfortunately racing was stopped yesterday due to a man being hit by something flying off a car, he died from his injuries. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/northamptonshire/5334466.stm Very sad! I dont know what this will mean for future events, they may be required to put up a fence or something between the track and the grass bank. letmeshowyou
I was there for this (he was at the top of the bank and right by the finish line). We saw him carried away and he looked pretty dead already. The report says 100s were watching, which is understatement of the century. It wasnt possible to move on the bank, so the medics didnt stand a chance of getting near him in time. I really think pod need to review their admission policies and limit numbers more sensibly! Not sure a fence would help - it was quite a freak thing to happen with where he was situated.

letmeshowyou
it looked like part of the parachute mechanism (though it was pretty big)
markymark
that's sad - guess the pod will have to review as a tragedy with that amount of publicity will only mean things will have to change. Thoughts go out to the man's family & the driver of the car
Pig
What a shitter, how unlucky. Looks like things will have to change. Some things are not possible to stop happening, they have to be seen to be preventing things though!
