wkdtime
Recently brought Cr's In Gold and im still waiting to put them on, as some of you know the chrome/polished lip on these are not laquered so are prone to oxidiation (Saltwater etc). So what do you guys think is the best thing i should do? 1.Get the wheels laquered (if so any reccomendations) 2.Use Zoop Seal. (Storing the wheels is not an option, besides my supe is a weekend car) Cheers:)

Bobbeh
No idea m8.. could be a pain finding someone who can take the wheels apart, and it could be costly. I dont know how tricky they are to work on. Gaz should be able to advise you on how Racing Harts are constructed, and how, if you chose the Zoopseal option, it is applied. wkdtime
Zoopseal gives protection for up to 2-3 Years so i have been told, it might be the option i go for.
Bobbeh
If that can be applied properly without taking the wheels apart then it would probably be the better option. Otherwise, do it properly and get them laquered.

Bobbeh
Not 100%, but any wheel refurbisher should be able to sort you, if they can take apart your wheels (if that needs doing to do a propper job).
Gaz Walker
If you really must use them in the winter, either will work but wash them as frequently as possible. That means not once a week - but every day if possible. This doesn't just apply to Racing Harts, Rays, Blitz etc etc will all have the same problem. Gaz. colsoop
Eek using them in winter is going to be a real pain, for the cost of lacquering them you could probably get a set of 16's with tyres. (depending on your brake size)
monkey76364
I couldnt cope with having to wash them every day .... too cold in the winter !!!!

I'm pretty sure my Blitz are laquered, as that what lifted off them when I started getting rid of the kerb damage!

Racing Harts are a welded split rim so to take them apart you need to grind the weld out which is a fooking ridiculous idea
Bobbeh
Oh well, guess you dont have much choice there then! I dont know but can laquer be applied without having to take the wheels apart to do a propper job?

wkdtime
dont use it in the winter, surly this is the answer....... Leave it parked up for 4-5 months? The run around is for uni and work, occasionally id go to meets etc, so i want protection there for the wheels.
colsoop
If you protect them with a wax sealant and a carnauba wax and wash them regularly i think you will be ok. I use Klass sealant glaze, and p21s caranauba wax. I use these on my bodywork but have also used them on my wheels it doesn't let the brake dust and grime settle meaning you can just wash with a sponge and water.
