OK, I'll take a stab at why Martin said "with wood" since we are in Chat What shape is the top part of your axel stand ? Flat or U (ish) shaped ? The stock lifting points are flat (ish) so, a U shaped top of an axel stand is going to do some damage - NO ? I normally just use a bit of common sense and place them somewhere solid, also depends how high i wanna get it and where i need access too.
