Spigot Bearing Help

In neutral, clutch NOT depressed, the spigot bearing isn't turning, the gearbox input shaft is running at rank RPM. in a gear, (any gear) with clutch DEPRESSED, car stationary, the gearbox input shaft is stationary and clutch spigot bearing is doing crank RPM. Maybe you see now why i insist on fitting my own uprated clutches myself? I have seen some right abortion clutch jobs on the MKIV. Because it's a pull clutch and the box won't come off with the clutch cover still on the flywheel i have witnessed several attempts that have done quite a lot of damage, from broken bellhousings to bent input shafts. Have they got the release bearing stuff together correctly I wonder?

Other peoples cock ups fixed discretely.... Labour rate double though :sly:

Chris - why couldn't you live up here? lol

The squeak only occurs when in neutral, when i put in the gear or put down the clutch it doesn't do anything! Also when pulling away it does this slightly!!! It's so annoying, the garage are oviously crap, allthough they work on Ferarri's and Porsches!

mmmmmm :flame Dev

Just got back from Toyota, it is definetly the Spigot bearing they said. :D

Seemed like a good bunch of people, said they would get me a flywheel ordered if i booked it in with them, and when it's taken out if it needs replacing they will do that, if not then they won't charge me for it!

I did take it back to the garage that fitted the clutch, but i don't think they did that good a job, when they said drive with it for a few months to see if it wears off sort of put me off....

It's definetly the spigot bearing so Toyota say, and with them at least i have a decent come back if it's not.

I thought the flywheel needed changing around 60k? The first garage said it was fine but it rattles still when i turn the engine off, and when i pull away or reverse. Not for long but it could do with a change i think. Toyota said they would order the part in and see if it needs changed.

Thanks for all the info with this :)
