Gaz Walker
Mark, The AEM WB02 and CDI are better and cheaper than the FJ0 and HKS options. We can be pretty competitive on the AEM pricing too. Gaz.

Ian C
Dodgy bunch these traders, Gaz Monkey of the Mark, as well as advertising literature, I would talk to people who have bought and paid for and fitted for themselves the bits you think you might want/need, that's the only way you'll get close to an unbiased opinion. Halfords sockets - I've got some of those but I've snapped four sockets and two extension bars now, I'm beginning to suspect that you get what you pay for... -Ian

If they are the PRO range take em back and they will change em , i snap 'snap on' gear every week , i rate the Halfords stuff for the money but only the 'Pro' range . Tell me about it Mark one of our US suppliers is a AEM master certified thingy-ma-jig. He is also a HKS dealer, and gets big $$$ for HKS stuff. He would make twice as much selling a HKS DLI over a AEM CDI, but yet he sells us the CDI. The AEM CDI and WB02 are better units AND cheaper than there couterparts. Gaz. MONKEYmark
looks like im on my own, i have bought my laptop computer off ebay already. bought a 386 sx with 32 meg of ram and 1 meg graphics card and 8 meg hard drive. just going to use it for the mapping, dont want to play games on it. as to the hks dli its what most of the people seem to use so thought i would go with it. the fjo looks good and seems to do the job in all conditions, its like if i would be mapping it and i knock a cup of hot coffee or a glass of ice cold milk it will not affect the performance. horsepowerfreaks seems a good site for info. there are lots of good tuning places to buy parts from once you know what you need. horsepower freaks are expensive on some parts but shop around and you can get them lots cheaper. team MONKEYmotorsports are doing this as a promotional thing before we open up to tune cars over here. our company moto is " TEAM PRICE, quality, value, tuning with a smile" or TEAM QVC - Quality Value Counts lee want to be called "RIP OFF RUDE RACING" i said you cant call it that or people might not come. we going for the value for money end of the market. we aiming for first supra to get in the 8`s in england. it a long term plan. thanks for all your help NOT see you at 10 of the best 3. we dont need HABBY MORTORsport or TEA ARE DEE racing. eyefi we might be looking for and experienced yorkshire tuner, we will give you a call when we get up and running and stock the mini me lock up. we have have the smallest stock inventory in the country. but we are aiming for the top. looks like its going to get hard from now on, the halfords sockets have a life time g/tee so thats what we like about them. we dont want the posh snap on tools that snap easy. will try to push the value side of the business as we have been seeing a trend for lower cost tuning and parts. as rip of britain is no place to be right now. lots of hugs and kisses team MONKEYmotorsport xxxx xxx xx x ps can you make this thread a sticky as it will be a source for mapping info and part numbers of the things you will need. free maps will be available
Adam W
Mark, the only guy I know of who's gone from HKS DLI to AEM CDI has had big problems getting it to work. THe DLI seems pretty routine to install and doesn't cause any issues apart from occasionally frying elderly ignition coils. I think the "hot ticket" for widebands at the moment is the AEM gauge type unit, check it out on their webpage. Best place I found to buy was http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com, great prices, great service (even though mine hasn't arrived yet! - not their fault though, AEM's) and they do "package deals" which give you everything you need. Going down the route of using the AEM for boost control via the GM solenoid seems very sensible, that way you can set it up so that if you start detonating, run lean, get too hot, whatever, you can cut the amount of boost you're running as one of the safety features. I'm flogging my Blitz DSBC and going this route. I'm getting the AEM/Kavlico 3.5 bar MAP sensor (better than the GM MAP sensor apparently), GM IAT, GM boost solenoid, and all the connectors you need. One other thing to check is that there is a "battery offset table" available for your chosen injectors, this will save you a lot of hassle. Have a search in the forum or check out the injector wizard in the sample software to see if they're listed.
