Removal of MAF for a single on a UK AUTO

I'm having trouble trying to phrase this correctly so, here goes...

I want to find:

1. The most tried and tested way (here in the UK) to remove the UK MAF

2. Remember, this is on a UK Auto - see #1 above

3. I will start with a T61 size but, WILL go bigger longer term.

4. I don't want to be flying a mapper into this coutry - They need to live here so, I can go back and have it re-mapped when I want it done

5. I'm not going to be tuning this device myself

6. See #2 - This needs to be proven with the autobox

7. I can't have extended down time while the mapper figures this out - sorry Ian ;)

Which products/options fall into this category ?

Fcon V pro ???

The BEST way is to use a completely different ECU.

AEM, Fcon V Pro, Autronic, MoTeC. (Pretty much in price order lowest to highest)

Unproven but technically possible = eManage Ultimate.

The VPC isn't made any more so I'm discounting that.

The AEM is your best VFM choice - if you find a mapper that can map the autobox. It always comes down to the mapper...wish Ian would try his hand at the AEM...

Yep, me too on the VPC

You have listed all of the big boys but, #1 in my 1st post does not fit them all ?

OK, maybe I should add more #'s to my 1st post.

PHR MAP ECU, think Ernie had great results with this.

VPC's still floating about and can be got for under £250 if you hardwire them (piece a piss to do) also, the ROMS are readily available (3 different injectors sizes out there)

Emanage ultimate, Though i've yet to see anybody actually get this feature to work (MAF elimination) on Both the UK and US cars.

MAP ECU has very little support over here and has no timing control.

VPC - Nope, I'm not buying into a product which is end of life.

EmU - Nope - does not meet #1 above

Sorry Pete, i didnt think you were after full control as the thread title was MAF removal thats why i said Map ECU :) as the likes of the emange blue or safc etc etc can be run in conjunction with the 1st 2 in my post

Hmmm....the AEM can do it....John Fishers car works...and it was tuned by Thor, but I'm loathed to recommend them.

I would have a chat with Mark Shead re: Autronic and David Rowe re: MoTeC.

...you could also ask them about the AEM/GEMS unit too...

Go on you know you want to use our money back guarantee mapping service ;)

I have sporadic internet access at the moment and I've been in London today but I'm planning to get in touch with you soon for a quote for quite a bit of work doing :)

No problem :D I know what you mean - I wouldn't recommend it on your car as it doesn't fit #1, #6, or #7 of your requirements, regardless of the theoretical abilities of the unit. Until I know it works I won't say it works... It'd be nice to try and figure this out but I'd need someone to drop off a MAF based car for a couple of weeks for me to play with - with the EMU already installed ;)
