ChrisB
Anyone have an idea what this could be, i put my foot down gradually was doing about 100, then carried on the boost gauge showed that the second turbo came in and it was noiseier like the 2nd turbo was in, but it didnt go any quicker, then all the sudden i got a blast of power from the second turbo, but far too high in the rev range for normal, any ideas what it was didnt do it again just that one time as far as i know, didnt really get another chance to test it any ideas what this could be Cheers Chris

Ian C
Sometimes the sequential system can tie itself in a knot and #2 doesn't come online or does it late. Lifting off and booting again sorts it out. It's happened about 3 times in 2 years for me, may only affect non-stock cars. -Ian
ChrisB
cheers i will hopefully take it out tonight to see if it does it again, hopefully its just got itself confused
Paul Laing
Chris, have you thought about TTC? I was thinking about trying it but need to hear more people opinions about it. Maybe worth a go with your mods?
ad500
I had this once. The 2nd turbo started coming on line at around 4.5k rather than 4k. Then after a while not at all. Turned out to be a completely split rubber hose above the turbo area. Im guessing it was able to hold boost for a bit while the split was very small, but lost it completely as it got bigger. Just a thought and i could be very wrong but check your hoses anyway.
Paul Laing
When i first bought my Supra i thought it was amazing...then i thought i got used to the power and it didn't seem as quick as it did, i recently have put a purple hose techniques kit on my car and replaced all the vac hoses and the cars back to normal, all i can think of was that i had a split hose and it was leaking boost a bit. Sounds like it may be that Chris. Paul
ChrisB
hmm could be boost leak, but would the boost gauge still show the correct boost? will have to investigate this :S paul whats ttc:stupid:

ChrisB
cheers mark thought the general opinion was that this made the car run rough? and take far too long to spool up?
Paul Laing
Apparently the Yanks love TTC, they reckon theres no lag with a 6 speed manaul which made me consider this, they say the more you tune the Supra using sequential setup the worse it gets.... You need to change your driving style for TTC, off boost there is no real power so you either go down the box or wait an age for the car to build boost. Paul Laing
It's seems a bit like having a single turbo???
outatime
Paul, there is only so much you will learn about TTC by asking questions - it comes down to personal preference. Try the hose TTC, it takes all of 10 minutes. If you don't like it, put it back...
ChrisB
mines pretty much as tuned as its gettingnow anyway paul, only other thing would be hybrids when/if the tubo's go bang, or possibly single will think about it at the time lol
Matt B
Paul, I have a conversion done by Matt H which is a swittch on the dash that allows you to switch between TTC and standard. It works well and allows you to have the best of both worlds whenever you want it. I remeber it being cheap as well around £30-£50 but Matt H will confirm I'm sure..
