On an Auto?? Sounds like one of thee plugs on top of the box is slightly loose. Mine used to do it sometimes as well as the O/D light flashing.

mines does this and has now stopped and not done it for a few months

mines was error code 89 see HERE

hey slight hijack but the other day I came out of a bend and gave it some beans to get past some cars, stock TC came in and cut my power totally (not good timing grrrr - must remember to switch it off) but I managed to coast past the last car with no power and an almighty backfire - TC light was on and had totally cut everything.

Thing is, it then drove like a 1.6 ford escort until I switched it off and then back on again, is this normal - thought it was normally a temporary thing?

anyway, role on RLTC, every encounter I've had with stock TC has been were it is making things worse not better, what were they thinking?

hi guys seems to still be doing it one other thing i have noticed is when the slip control and od light is flashing the car will not stay in L it changes in to 2 on its own. :search:

would you say this is an electrical fault or actually somthing wrong with the g/box:rolleyes:

yes ive done several no joy. is there any wires behind dash that could of come loose because i have recently had a air/fuel ratio gauge fitted where my clock was?:)

The wires to the etcs under the radio are your best bet as TerribleTurner said. Does the light stop flashing when you do an ECU reset then come on again shortly after the engine is started

On the right hand side if the throttle body there is a cylindrical black connector (second one up) its is held in by two screws. If it has worked itself loose then it will give you the exact symptoms you are describing you need to make sure that it is perfectly lines up mm's can make a difference but ince repositioned hopefully cure the problem.

doesn't appear to be anything loose on the throttle body, i dont have to move before the light comes on.

if i start the car up and dont touch the accelarator it wont come, on as soon as i rev the car the light will start to flash does this appear to be the same problem as you had:search:

Just pull the Trac fuse, the stock TC is a complete waste of time and can be downright dangrous.

DON'T DO THIS!

You'll get rough gear changes and knack your box. Just get RLTC and remember to turn the stock TC off each time.
