AlanM
Some of you may remember that I was p***ed at having to change my small number plate last year having had it for 3 years without a word being said cos it was illegal. I changed (eventually) to what I thought was the smallest legal import size. Now another year down the road and I have been hauled and told to change it cos the letters are 4mm too narrow, 40 instead of 44mm. The spacing is correct, letters and number correct, height correct, margins correct and it is the correct font. . To make matters worse he (the nice sargeant that he was) suggested the Supra would suit a nice sticky on number plate on the bonnet like a mate he has who works in a local garage. (Even more illegal as it is not vertical) Hohum, police are so busy in the north dealing with us criminals although there were 4 cars on the High Street (not a long street by the way) with non-standard or sticky on number plates on their Saxos and Corsas as I came home

Soonto_HAS_soop
My letters are 47.5mm in height and I've had it on for 3 years with no problems, other than one officer that got pissy due to me speeding.
Pig
Stick on number plates are not legal! They are not reflective like the proper ones. P.S Feel for you. Should be doing better things like catching people with P1G plates

ivan
Stick on number plates are not legal! They are not reflective like the proper ones. They can be if you get the right ones. I had some made up before from CarFX which were reflective. They were made from the same stuff as the backing on standard plates. Unfortunately they got the number wrong and had to refund me, so I never got the chance to try them on plod...

wkdtime
I can understand when the writing is too smal or hard to read, but when its 4mm to small, thats just pathetic, anyone says that they have a job to do, give them a break etc thats BS, its still readable by speed traps etc and then whats the damn problem? AlanM
Could try heating it in the oven see if I can stretch it 4 mm - lol. Looked out the order for the plate it was 44mm I asked for so have mailed the guy to see if he will meet me half way on a new one
