DamanC
Joyfully i have a nail that tried mateing with my tyre, it did so sucessfully and now they are one. The downside of this eternal bond of love is my tyre is slowly going down. 28 ---> 23 psi in about 40 hours. [scarcasm]thankfully,[/scarcasm] its about an inch from the wall and apparently cannot be repaired so i therefore need to replace it. Its the rear too so its nicely that little more expensive. Now the other tyre on the rear is the same age as the loved up one, and has about 6mm of tread left. Firstly do i replace just the loved up one or both? and secondly i cant seem to find any Falkon FK-03GR8 Tyres anywhere, has the name changed or are they now no more? Pete
I'd replace them both and keep the 6mm one as a hot spare just in case you need it. Saves matching the tyres too! (You missed a 'c' out of the thread title btw)
tbourner
Get a pair of GSD3s instead.

Whitesupraboy2
if your a bit tight of cash this month and the real question is will i be safe to have one new tyre one of 6mm... answer is yes. Now with 2 different brands...yes it will be ok, but i personally would not do that

Jake
I'd repair that. It's not right on the edge near the sidewall where most of the flexing occurs. When I was in the tyre game, I repaired tyres like that many times with no comebacks. (they're all dead! j/k) However, nowadays your problem will be finding somebody willing to repair it. They all would probably prefer to sell you a new tyre (or a pair) and that way your next of kin won't sue their asses if the worst happens. Life was much simplier back in the day

tbourner
I don't think many places will as Jake said, the guys who did mine (who are good chaps BTW) said they won't do it on performance cars like this unless it's inside the 'groove' (on these tyres - mine are similar), and they won't repair more than once on the same tyre; if it happens again its a replacement. I wouldn't trust it if you do get it repaired, i.e.: no track days or anything!! I know it's highly unlikely that it is dangerous and the tyre places are just over-protecting themselves, but it's your life you're bargening with!!! If a repair blows it's likely to happen at 100+leps.
